Gudrid of Iceland

After Norsemen had raided and settled in northern Europe, the last frontier seemed to be Iceland. Then Greenland was discovered and settled in 986 by Eirik the Red. The quest for land and wealth was carried on by the next generation. This is the story of Gudrid, the sister-in-law of Leif Eiriksson. Her quest for a good husband, home, and family took her past the edge of the known world to Vinland where her first child was born.

This fictional story is based on actual events as recorded in the Saga of the Greenlanders and the Saga of Eirik the Red. The story is "told" by Gudrid.
